Hello Interpreters!
My name is Mason, and I work as an interpreter, translator, quality assurance call evaluator, instructor, and YouTuber (keeping myself busy!).

In case you are interested, here is my story!
I was born and raised in South Korea until I was 14, then moved to Canada for high school and university. You might think my English is good only because I moved to an English speaking country at a young age, but that is not the whole story.
When I was only 3 years old, my parents started teaching me English. They likely thought it would make my life easier later on. As it turns out, I really loved the language. Throughout my childhood in Korea, I was always the kid who could speak English well.
One day in elementary school, I had to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. I asked my mom for advice. She said, “Well, since you are good at English, why don’t you become an interpreter?” That was the start of everything. I even learned the difference between a translator and an interpreter at the age of seven!
From that moment on, I always answered “interpreter” when someone asked about my future. Fast forward 15 years, and I started working at Language Line Solutions as a remote Korean medical interpreter. I was recognized as a top performer and was promoted to In Language Facilitator and eventually an interpreter trainer. For two years, I trained groups of 15 to 20 people every two weeks to help them become professional interpreters. By the time I left the company, I have had hundreds of trainees who recognized me as their trainer and a mentor.
I left the role because I knew this was a career that I wanted to build on my own. I began my journey as a freelance interpreter and have worked with ten different language companies. I also earned dual certification from NBCMI and CCHI. Finally in 2023, I launched my Medical Interpreter Professional Certificate Program and shared my lectures for free on YouTube.
